exercise...

I have decided that it is time. Time to lose this baby weight. I have begun exercising every morning, which is VERY hard to do with four little people around. So, I do it first thing. Literally. I roll out of bed, grab my tennis shoes and walk out to the family room. I open my computer, log onto Netflix, select a workout video to do, and get started. However, sometimes it takes me awhile to get through the entire work out. For example, this morning; five minutes into the routine, Jase woke up. So, I fed him and changed his diaper. Then, after a few more minutes of exercise, the girls wandered out of their rooms and wanted cereal. Then, Jase got fussy and needed to lay down for his nap, etc. You get the picture. But, other days I am totally lucky and get the whole workout done before anyone else even wakes up. That is the best.
I am determined to tone my body and lose weight. I am a bit impatient with myself too, wanting to see immediate results. Despite how everyone claims that nursing helps you lose the baby weight more quickly, I feel like my body always holds onto a layer of fat while I am nursing (possibly as a measure to ensure that in time a shortage, our babies won't starve?) So, maybe I cannot expect great results until I am done nursing. That would be frustrating. Anyways, I took a before picture, which I will not be posting as I don't want to scare you all away. Then, at the end of six weeks, I am going to compare and hope to see noticeable improvement!

Way to go! You are so good. I should do the workout video thing. For some reason our treadmill has been shutting off after about 10 minutes. Ugh! I am just SOOOO not a morning person. So, by the time the kids are all off to school, if I then work out, then shower and get dressed it is lunch time practically! Ugh!

I'm so excited for you Mindy! I love the before picture idea! I'm going to have to do that too, only I don't know how soon is okay to start working out! I feel awesome, but is 10 days too soon because I'm totally with you...these layers of baby fat are not attractive and need to go!

You are an inspiration! I have actually worked out 5 days a week for a month straight, but today was the first day I decided to take the day off. I am fighting a terrible cold, but after reading this I thought, if Mindy can do it with 4 kids, I can do it with a measly cold. I didn't last super long, but I did the elliptical with kleenexes in hand.

Good for you! I've been horrible at working out these last 5 weeks or so - only making it to the gym a few times. I kind of have a good excuse. When did you add music to your blog? The song Sweet, Sweet Baby started and I was confused. I've been working on the kiddos slideshows for their birthdays and I put that one on G's. LOVE it!

Tressa, I am so not a morning person either. The only reason it works for me is that Kennady does not have to be to school until 11:00. So, I set my wake-up time for 8:00. Kelly, I would think 10 days is a bit early. I am just amazed that you are feeling so great already. That is awesome! Letia...YOU were the inspiration! I read your biggest loser post and felt motivated. In fact, I often do one of Jillian Michael's work-out videos. She is the trainer from the Biggest Loser TV show. Her workouts seriously kick my butt. Holly, I think I added music about a week ago? I heard the sweet baby song on Cari's website awhile back and have loved it ever since. It makes me happy while blogging :) Have fun in CA!

Yeah Mindy! I have been walking but need to get with the toning. I can't imagine how crazy it can be with 4...I struggle with 2 sometimes! Good luck!

I have to get up between 5:30 and 6:00 in the morning if I want to exercise before my kids get up! I have yet to find a good time to exercise which is why I still have the weight from 6 pregnancies hanging around (I even gained weight during the two I miscarried which I find to be a total injustice!). Good job, Min--you have re-inspired me to try and find a time for exercise that will work. Thanks! :)

Hey girl, I think that breast feeding thing is a myth anyway. I keep the layer on. I think you look great by the way. So if you get to excerise here and there it is working. Do not stress.
