When preparing the spiritual message for our Relief Society presidency meeting last night, I discovered a quote by President George Q. Cannon that was so inspiring and comforting to me. So, I thought I would share it:
"No matter how serious the trial, how deep the distress, how great the affliction, [God] will never desert us. He never has, and He never will. He cannot do it. It is against His character to do so. He is an unchangeable being.... He will stand by us. We may pass through the fiery furnace; we may pass through deep waters; but we shall not be consumed nor overwhelmed. We shall emerge from all these trials and difficulties the better and the purer for them, if we only trust in our God and keep His commandments."

You have no idea how much reading this right now in this very moment means so much to me. If you knew what I went through last night you might believe you were inspired to share this just for me. Um...can this be my new motto? I thought that I'd cried every tear possible this year and that there was nothing left in me, but I guess not. I feel like I'm such a stronger person because of everything we have been through this year. I need to print this quote up, though, and wallpaper my house with it - I think. Love you!

What a true message. I'm going to send this along to our RS ladies. Being in the presidency I often am aware of so many trials that go on in our ward (and then I know there are so many I don't know of) and I just want to hug each of them and say...Hold on. He loves you. He will not leave you.
